There are around 2000 species of True Bugs (Hemiptera) in Britain, which include leafhoppers, froghoppers, aphids and shieldbugs. So far, 81 Hemiptera species have been recorded at Peartree Green. Here are some photos of the bugs we have seen here, a small fraction of those likely to be found...

Historically this was a rare bug found only at Box Hill in Surrey where it feeds on Box trees, but it has consideraby expanded its range and can be found on a wider range of trees and shrubs
